app wont recognise tivo box

can anyone help

 

i downloaded the new apps but it wont recognise my tivo box to use as a remote control or watch my shows

 

says has to be on same netwrk which it is

Could be a number of reasons. What device are you trying to use? It seems from the forum that there may be problems with iOS devices.

Also you need a V6 box to watch your shows via the TV control app on your home WiFi. This isn't available with the TiVo box.

ok well i havent got the v6 box so that rules one of them out

 

imusing an android phone s8 so no ios

..and you can’t use the Virgin TV Control app as a remote for TiVo unless you connect it to your Superhub which is not normally done as TiVo does not require this connection to work, just the co-ax connection.

V6 must have both connections.

Sorry, my mistake for not mentioning the fundamental requirement of connecting the box to the home network for full use of the Control app.

Not really a helpful reply as the only thing which won't work with a TiVo box that is not connected via an ethernet cable or power line device to the hub is the remote control function.  With the TiVo box all other functions work via the virgin media cable connection to the TiVo box

you nee to connect the ethernet port on the tivo to your superhub
