Virgin TV Go app cannot log in

The Virgin TV Go app running on my Samsung S7 edge android phone cannot log in.
This is the latest version of the app, and the phone is running the latest version of Android 7.
My login details are correct - I am using them with the Virgin TV app on the same phone.
My phone has a good wifi connection.screenshot.png
The error reported is:
oops that hasn't worked
sorry - we can't sign you in right now
please try again in a few minutes

PS. of course, trying again, even numerous times, at all times of the day, does not work.

Have you tried logging in with another device to see if you are experiencing the same issue? If you haven't  done so would you be able to try and let me know how this goes?
