Virgin TV Control app

The control app will not connect to my TiVo box, every time I press the connect button it won’t do it. It’s finding the box because it’s showing my all my recordings. Can someone help? Thank you

What are you trying to do that you can’t do?

Is your box a TiVo or a V6?

If a TiVo, how is it connected to your Superhub?

I’m trying to connect the virgin control app to my TiVo box. It’s not a V6 and it appears to be connected to the superhub by a white cable, not an Ethernet or anything like that. I sound really stupid but I haven’t got the foggiest what I’m doing wrong

I'm sorry to hear about this issue, when using the app are you logging into your primary Virgin Media account? 

 

Make sure your set top box to the network, which is best done with an ethernet cable. If this isn't possible then I'd recommend taking a look at powerline adapters to get it connected.

My actual set top box is connected to the network because I can see all my shows on the app. I’m using the primary account when logging in. My superhub is literally right next to my TiVo box.

With TiVo, you can see My Shows via the app without the need to Ethernet cable connect the TiVo to the Superhub.

I suspect that your TiVo is only connected to the co-ax and not to the Superhub.

How many cables are coming out of the back of the TiVo?

You need four:

1. Power cable;

2. HDMI cable to TV;

3. Co-ax cable to cable network outlet;

4. Ethernet cable to Superhub.

I'm having this problem also, and what I don't understand is why it was working until a week / week and a half ago, but now it no longer recognises my tablet on the network - I haven't done anything differently. Really frustrating new app.

The error message is just that it can't find my TiVo on the network. Rescan says the same.

What seems to work temporarily is rebooting the whole router, then it does allow me to rescan for my tivo and find it, but then it seems to drop off again and then it goes back to the above error.

Any idea why it's not saving this or recognising my WiFi network?
