Sky Sports App via Virgin TV Go

Hello, 

We have seen a number of our Community members have an issue with logging into the Sky Sports app, be it directly, or through Virgin TV Go. Currently, we have been unable to replicate this throughout our teams. Everything is looking OK in the back end.

Please ensure when you are logging in, you are using the Virgin Media tile on the Sky Sports app. 

If this is still causing issue, please try re-registering your device via the TV Go settings.

Should you still have an issue after both of these things have been tried, please leave a message on this post and we will raise an individual ticket for you. Please leave discussions about the problem to the other mega-thread here, so we can quickly identify the people affected.

In the thread below, please leave the following information:

What device are you using?

What software is the device running? 

Has your device got any updates that it needs to run?
 
I appreciate some may have provided this information in the other thread.

Hi.

Whether on my phone or laptop, I cannot watch Sky Sports  -device limit reached

Sky tell me too many devices. I go to device management on Virgin and either get "sorry we can't register your device at the moment [app] or the link to the URL to manage sky devices times out .. https://manage-virgintvgo.virginmedia.com/skydevices

I have telpehoned twice and agents can't help so kill the call.

Have you tried opening the link https://manage-virgintvgo.virginmedia.com/skydevices  in an incognito window?

Ypou could also try clearing your cookies and cache.

I generally have the above issue using Chrome, but find it works using either Firefox or Edge browsers.

It's also worth making sure that you open the link as an http one not https

i.e. http://manage-virgintvgo.virginmedia.com/skydevices

Chrome in particular will try to force into an https link which won't work - for some reason opening in as an Incognito window doesn't seem to do this.

Sky Sports app started working properly now and tablet shows in device settings when viewed on my pc, but no difference on tablet and phone but at least I can now watch on my tablet 🙂

I followed everything to no avail but this weekend it started working again so presume something had changed at the backend.

It annoys me when simple things fail to work but at least I can watch SkySports through the app on my tablet which was what I was after, the rest is just background annoyance and no I will not try uninstalling and re-installing yet again. It is currently not broke so am leaving it as is.

Hi

the sky sports app for me is bordering on the useless recently

Using my phone, correctly listed a device, both on 5g and wifi, I get the ‘video unavailable’ error every time for watching the live feed
However the vides on the app played fine 

no idea what to anymore

Thanks for posting. Have you tried deleting and re-adding it? 

 

Also, does this only happen with this current device or have you tried others/the browser?

I've tried re installing the app on the phone but no luck

 

I eventually got the app on my mac book to work, but it took 2 weeks to realise it won't work if you have any messaging platfom open it thinks you might stream via. So had to shut down skype, whatsapp, telegram etc
