Problem playing downloads

Hi, I am trying to download some programmes in the tv control app to watch when I’m away and when I try and play them I get the error below, can anyone suggest anything to get it working please. 

There was a problem playing this programme. If this problem persists, download the programme again.

Sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with this, just to clarify is the Virgin TVGo App where you are downloading the shows?

Also is this from recorded programmes and is there any error code appearing?
