“Optimising signals”

Hi all

I’ve been having my trouble with the little Stream box for months but in the past week it’s slowed to a crawl and subtitles don’t line up with shows making them unwatchable.

I contacted VM and the agent said to turn everything on and off again, and he would sent “optimising signals” to the box. What does this mean??

On the TiVo, V6 & TV360 boxes, "sending signals" is usually CS-talk for a refresh being sent and the box being rebooted.

It may be different on Stream, given the different means of carrying the channels, but I have doubts.

Now I've heard everything ! 🤣

Activation "hits" went out with the old V & V+ boxes as different cable networks used a variety of codes to do the job. All activation now happens via the hub, & has to with Stream anyway as there is no direct coax connection.

Is the connection with an Ethernet cable? If not, do so.
