I have tried to set up Stream on two different TVs and in different rooms and I get to the Install complete screen in all scenarios and then no further. What am I missing? The remote does nothing.

Have you removed the tab from the remote which enables the batteries to power the remote?

Yep, the remote is on. However as soon as I posted this query, activation finally completed.
