Why do I have to reboot my router everyday to bump the speed up to 100Mbps??
Lately I have noticed that my internet has been a little slow with latency and lag. I’m signed up to the fibre optic 200Mbps broadband plan and usually get around 12Mbps of speed. Whilst I appreciate the speed fluctuates during specific times due to the contention ratio, it appears my broadband speed is generally around 6Mbps (often slower) UNLESS I reboot the router. Which doesn’t actually hold the 100Mbps speed for very long. QUESTION - Do I really have to reboot the router EVERY single day? - Does it sound like a problem with my router? - The virgin media team are literally useless and filled me with all sorts of pointless lame excuses, obstacles in the way, blah blah blah. Can you post some stats. Go to 192.168.0.1 (router mode) or 192.168.100.1 (modem mode), do not log in, click on the link "Check Router Status". Copy and paste the Downstream, Upstream and Network Logs. Mask any public IP address.
