What will you do with 500 that you can't do with 350?

Just stick some go faster stripes and a dustbin exhaust to your Hub 3 and you will rule the streets.    Smiley Very Happy

Re: Where will 500 Mbps roll out first?

Useful responses there, guys.

As far as I know it replaces 350 as the new top package.

It won't be rolled out by region but by hubsite. The 4 letter or 3 letter and 1 digit site ID on your IP address's reverse DNS. http://www.whatismyip.com will give you this.

I am not aware of which areas are getting it first. Anyone who is aware isn't going to broadcast it on here.

Re: Where will 500 Mbps roll out first?

It is the uplink increase to 35Mb which most will want.

Re: Where will 500 Mbps roll out first?

Yeah a possible extra charge of £15/20 for download that's not needed, +  an increase of 15mb more upload that users on the top tier at the moment have been waiting to be upgraded for a lifetime. It would be better just to upgrade the top tier package of 350mb to 400/35 than start a new top tier, from a customer point of view instead of making people who have wanted more upload speed for ages pay the penalty of paying extra for a download speed that's not needed.

Re: Where will 500 Mbps roll out first?

But the business is run for the business, not the customer.

A downlink at 500 sounds a great product but that bandwidth will rarely ever be utilised apart from occasional speedtests to show it off.  So it costs Virgin almost nothing to provide - it's all profit for them.

An uplink at 35 would certainly be utilised,  so Virgin have to make it earn its way.
