PO2 0AW - Portsmouth

Wired Connection

This makes online gaming impossible. I will check this in the morning when I suspect it will be fine (20mpbs)

I shouldn't have to hotspot from my phone when I am paying for broadband

Usual request.  Please post the Network Log, Downstream and Upstream logs and Pre and PostRS errors for comment.  Do not use screenshots, just copy and paste the text.

Also setup a BQM to monitor your circuit.   www.thinkbroadband.com/ping

I am sorry, you will need to point me towards a link on how to provide the details you have kindly requested.

In addition, as suspected, I test again this morning, straight to 20Mbps.

Also last night, circa 10:30 pm, It went from 0.2 to 20... like someone had flicked a switch.

Currently at 0.6 ish

If you can let me know how to find the data, I will of course supply it - at a time when I am experiencing the slow-down. Thanks 🙂

Hi wrolfe,

So we can get a better idea of what is happening please set up a free “Broadband Quality Monitor” to continually monitor the state of your connection and record any network dropouts. It does it 24/7/365 and it keeps a visual record of any/all your network disconnections, useful data to have to match to the Network logs (in your Hub settings) and in discussions with us. Make sure you uncheck the “ignore ping from WAN side” box in the settings if you see a wall of "red" - note it will take an hour or two to start seeing a sensible picture. please run this for 72 hours and post the results here so we can have a further look into this for you.

Regards

Paul.

I will do this, thanks.

I have been living with it, and hot spotting with my phone at the worst times:

<a href="https://www.speedtest.net/result/12360564387"><img src="https://www.speedtest.net/result/12360564387.png"/></a>

today, its pretty band again. I will collect the monitor data, and post some results. From a glance ( I did set up a monitor a few weeks ago) I can see that the 'bad upload speeds' coincide with high packet loss.

Ok, so it's very intermittent, but it looks like this when it's bad:

Hopefully... you can see this.

Notice the areas of high packet loss, centered around 2pm and 9pm, lasting several hours, this is when my upload speed plummets, and I need to hotspot off my phone 😞

Hi @wrolfe, thanks for your post and really sorry that you seem to be having performance issues.

I've had a check of your account, and I can't identify anything specific that could be causing this at the moment so this may need some further investigation.

I'm going to send you a PM just to go through a few things before we take things further and get this on the way to being sorted!

Cheers
