Upgraded to 1Gb yesterday but not seeing consistent speed increases :(

Up to speed

Yesterday Monday 25th I upgraded to Hub4 after upgrading from 350mb to 1Gb. Using Ethernet cable from hub to PC I ran some tests and initially did see some near 1Gb but later on then 500mb and now less than the 350mb I had before the upgrade...

Isn't there some sort of guarantee that VM promise speeds or have a penalty??

Did you receive the Hub 4 as it is needed for 1GB Tier.

Also do a direct wired speed test at www.samknows.com/realspeed

If on Windows, try using "Safe Mode with Networking Support".   This will eliminate any software that may be causing a problem with the speed test.

You could also try a 60 second factory pinhole reset as below.
Remove any ethernet cables from the Hub and hold the pinhole reset switch for 60 seconds. Do NOT reboot the Hub, just let it do it's thing. Note you will need the passwords from the bottom of the Hub afterwards, so make sure they are legible.

I learn something new everyday! Didn't think my PC would be bottleneck as when on 350mb then I got roughly that... but according to realspeed I am getting into the house 1144Mbps but something running on my PC (or thinking about it I go via another router to give me more Ethernet Ports as 4 isn't enough...).

realspeed.png

I will try my son's PC which is a direct connection and I know on 1000 Ethernet cable...

Cheers again 🙂
