Upgraded from 350 to 1GB Speed, but slower than old speed.

Hiya

I updated 2 months ago to the superfast 1GB speed, and got the upgraded hub 4.

I use Router Modem Mode to -> Archer C7 -> Wired to PC.

I have a few connected devices and WAPs but my testing and troubleshooting is done from my main PC.

I have a mixture of Cat 5e and Cat 6 cables so they shouldn't influence any speed issues.

I upgrade to 1Gig so I'm wondering why I pay more for less performance.

My speed tests before were often nearer the top range of my last package, but now it fluctuates and seems to be even slower at times and I'm wondering if it has some other setting issue.

It seems on average to be the old sped, or slower.

I've seen some success, but the posts result in PMs and solutions, so I'm holding out hope!

Thanks!

To update other readers.

I did have some things misconfigured that VM were able to adjust remotely, but after that I also now have an engineer booked to come and look at the up/down stream errors identified in my first posts.

Ill update the progress after. 🙂

Engineer visited today.

We tested the next at start of visit 450-500mb.

Added an attenuator (spelling?) and also redid the connections as the wire was protruding too far out.

After doing those fixes it went to 950mb when testing.

So, so far, so good.
Hopefully this will remain stable!

Thanks all. VM Engineer was required to fix down/upstream values. I assume while I was on the 350mb package, I had the same issue, but it wasn't as noticeable.

Overall happy.
I'll return in a week or so to confirm.
