Superfibre 70 upgrade to Vivid 100

Are all Superfibre 70 customers being upgraded to Vivid 100 without cost and automatically? My understanding is that 100 Mps is to be the new minimum speed offering.

Re: Superfibre 70 upgrade to Vivid 100

Virgin will only be offering new contracts with 100mb, existing customers on lower speeds can stay on that so they wont have to pay extra to move to 100

Re: Superfibre 70 upgrade to Vivid 100

Thanks for quick reply. Not sure I quite follow though. Are you saying that my 70Mps will eventually be increased to 100 without me having to do anything? (Just like the 50 to 70 increase last year).

When I looked at my upgrade options, all I have available a paid increase to 200 Mbs (only about another £3/mo), but I just don't need that speed boost.

Cheers

There are no plans that I can see to upgrade customers from 70 to 100 for free

Re: Superfibre 70 upgrade to Vivid 100

But upgrading to 100 for a fee is not an option in my account. I am offered a paid upgrade to 200. You'd think that would only be the case if 70 was being phased out. Strange.

Re: Superfibre 70 upgrade to Vivid 100

Thanks for the suggestion.  I rang, and amazingly got through to a human in minutes. I would not be automatically be upgraded to 100Mps.  But at no extra monthly cost I transferred from my Superfibre 70 to Vivid 100 package, and all that requires is agreeing to enter into a new 12 month contract (not a problem for me). The provisioning was done while I was still on the phone, and after a couple of automatic reboots of the router, I am now recording 99.5Mps on BTW Performance Test speed test website.

Re: Superfibre 70 upgrade to Vivid 100

I have referred 5 immediate neighbours that all now have Virgin and they are all on 100megs for £34.25. I should have got a £50 bill reduction for each of these new customer referrals but to this day never got a penny.

Anyway.. I just called Virgin to query why I’m at 70 and not the Vivid 100 like all my neighbours are despite me paying £32.64 month.

Virgin said I can only have it if I pay them £32 to get the ‘free’ upgrade.

Can someone please explain the insane and unfair logic of this?

Oh, a month ago try Super Hub failed and had to be replaced and Virgin attempted to charge me again £30-something to have their own faulty equipment replaced!
