Sub 30mbit speed on Gig1

Title says it all really.

SH4 in modem mode, connected to a Unifi UDM Pro. PC I am running the test from is connected to the UDM-Pro via 10G DAC.

This is the sort of speeds I see:

I've tried calling VM but I can never get through, the one time I did get through after 30 mins on hold, the line went dead (but didn't hang up) once she got as far as asking my name.

So, hoping I can get help here. I've also submitted a complaint at the lack of service. Honestly I'd be happy to just terminate seeing as they don't provide a useable connection.

Agreed - VM SuperHubs have supported round robin load balancing in the past, but have never acknowledged it as a feature - and the support team on the forums seem to have no real understanding or knowledge of the more advanced areas of networking that include load balancing etc.

I think the best we can hope for in the future is the roll out of the SH5 and 2.5GbE network support, that will then allow us to go faster than 940Mbs over a cabled connection.

I can certainly vouch for 2.5g equipment - once upgraded I am constantly hitting 1.15g connection:

Do you have a VOIP connection via the SH5?   Last time I looked they weren't supported yet and I would need that before upgrading.

Ultimately the issue here is that VM have NEVER supported or acknowledged the ability of their hubs to support port bonding or link aggregation. If it worked in the past, then fine but it was a bit of an accident and really can't be relied on.

Then maybe they should roll out kit (like the SH5) that supports the speed they sell.

Most of us are only trying to do link aggregation to get the speed we pay for when VM won't provide an upgrade to the SH4 that does not have any other capability to deliver >1g.

No VOIP, sorry
