Speed too slow on vivid 350

I have just upgraded to vivid 350 but getting speeds of around 80mb on average. We have the hub in modem mode and connected to an Asus router, there are 10-12 devices connected to it most of the time but only about 2 or 3 actually being used at any one point. I have tried disconnecting the majority of the devices but still not getting the higher speed that we are paying for. What can i do to get the correct speed?

Re: Speed too slow on vivid 350

How are you connecting wired or wirelessly?

If wireless, try wired directly to the hub with a Cat 5e cable or better with a device equipped with a gigabit ethernet network card.

Everything apart from 1 tivo box is connected through wireless, the computer i use is not near the hub so i can't have a wired connection to it.

Re: Speed too slow on vivid 350

The "correct speed" is the speed VM send to the Hub, and which you should get with a wired connection to the Hub.

WiFi speeds are affected by many local factors.

What Asus router model do you have?

wireless speed can depend on the adapter you got to get better speed.

I have an ASUS RT-N66U router and the adapter on my computer is a ASUS USB N66.

Re: Speed too slow on vivid 350

Even when you get full download speeds, you don't want to be held back by your old wireless-N router, get a wireless-AC

Re: Speed too slow on vivid 350

You will need to upgrade the adapter as well as the ASUS USB N66 adapter is not capable of 350Mbps.

However, it should be capable of around 250Mbps on the 5 GHz band depending on your wireless environment and settings.
