Speed to device half speed to hub

Sam knows is consistently showing that I am getting speeds of around 1140 to my hub4 but I'm only getting max 600mb to a device connected via ethernet.

I've only recently upgraded to 1gig Volt - would you expect the speed to device to increase (I've seen wait 14 days) even though the speed to the hub4 is already at 1140?

Can you test speeds this way first.

As you expect >100Mbps then connect a 1GB enabled computer/laptop, with up to date drivers, via a NEW and working Cat5e/6a ethernet cable, directly to the Hub which you have put into “modem mode” (https://www.virginmedia.com/help/virgin-media-hub-modem-mode ). This ensures that NO other devices are connected

Test speeds at https://speedtest.samknows.com/ - try on 2 different browsers.

If they are still low – boot your device into Windows safe+networking mode - to disable any potentially interfering software - and try again.

There are many posts on here (I have a list of ~30!) where QoS software, unknown/flaky software, old network card drivers, corrupted browsers, bad cables or other connected devices are limiting speeds on tests.

Report back what that gets.

A couple of examples why... see message 9 in the first thread and… 3 in the second

I do not work for VM. My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & BT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired, 2 on WiFi) Hub5 in modem mode with Apple Airport Extreme Router +2 Airport Express's & TP-Link Archer C64 WAP. On Volt 350Mbps, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.

Hey @Byfoja03,

Welcome back to the community and thanks for taking the time to post.

I'm sorry to hear of the issues that you're having with your connection at the moment. I have looked into this on our system and cannot see anything that would be causing the issues that you're having.

If you could try the help that @jbrennand has advised of and see if that helps to resolve the issues that you're having or this would help diagnose the issues that you're having.

Regards,

Most likely the devices can't process that speed.  Try a test after booting up in 'safe mode'
