Speed test servers

Hi All

Confused, so posting on here to see if anyone can offer any insight. I use ockula speedtest, testing my broadband speed. I have been getting some dodgy results of late. What I have discovered is that changing the server does offer differing download speed results. I use one server, it gives me the speed that I am paying for, use a few others and they all drop off leaving me with speeds 80% short of what I should be getting. I guess my question is what result should I believe?

Thanks

Mark

Re: Speed test servers

I use a server that is close to me & is Virgin Media hosted. This gives me as near as possible the optimum performance level from the gateway to the net (the headend CMTS) to my hub.

Cable customer since 1993. Services: FH TV, Sky Sports & Movies (2xV6), Talk Anytime Phone, VIVID 350, Virgin PAYG Mobile

Re: Speed test servers

My nearest/recommended server is Virgin Media Manchester but recently i'm finding the results on that aren't as good as TNP Manchester.

8247957484Virgin Media

8247963602TNP

Try a couple of servers nearby and go with the majority view.
