Experiencing very slow speed on 1G connection, since my return from holidays.
Connected via ethernet so not a Wifi issue.
Upload seems fine, but downstream is very poor no matter what server I use for speedtest, also connectivity to work data center is very slow (others on Virgin Media service do not see this isssue).

Can you test it this way...
_____________________
Connect a 1GB enabled computer/laptop, with up to date drivers, via a NEW and working Cat5e/6a ethernet cable, directly to the Hub which you have put into “modem mode” (https://www.virginmedia.com/help/virgin-media-hub-modem-mode ). This ensures that NO other devices are connected
Test speeds at https://speedtest.samknows.com/ - try on 2 different browsers.
If they are still low – boot your device into Windows safe+networking mode - to disable any potentially interfering software - and try again.
There are many posts on here (I have a list of ~30!) where QoS software, unknown/flaky software, old network card drivers, corrupted browsers, bad cables or other connected devices are limiting speeds on tests.
If its still poor then do a 60 second pinhole reset on the Hub and try again
Report back what that gets.

Thanks John, unfortunately none of this has really helped.
The various different connections, cables, I also tested my laptop at work via ethernet where it gives high speeds, so I do not think it is to do with my laptop nor cable(s).
Tried the hub reset, tried the speedtest on both Chrome and Edge and same results, about 10 down and 50 up, so upload is always fine, the download is very low versus the target.
May try some more over the weekend but something is wrong since all of this used to work fine before my holidays.

There is one new thing in the log, not sure if that matters:
