Hi,
Can I get an opinion on my speeds and router status? For reference my broadband package is: M500 Fibre Broadband.
This was fine until O2 moved me into Volt, I'm now below 300mbps previously on 300Mbps I was getting 340-400Mbps down, O2 moved me to 500 and I now struggle to get 300.
My router gets about 40-70c operating temperature (the room is around 18-19c)
Speedtests:
In-game latency 40-120ms.
Is this all okay/good? VM was meant to do work outside due to a faulty cable about 2 years ago but never carried it out (did turn up in a van but didn't get out - rain put the engineer off? Who knows).

Thanks for coming back to us @ItsMyVMService and I agree that looks really wild.
I have looked into your connection and the local area network and cannot see any issues that would be the cause of this.
How has your connection been running since your last post?
Regards,
Steven_L

Hi ItsMyVMService, thanks for the message and sorry to hear that the service is working not as it should be.
I have looked in to this and cannot see any outages and the service looks green.
Can you confirm if you are still having issues with this?
Kind regards Chris.

Hi Chris_W1,
It depends on the time of day, early AM easily 827Mbps. 4-8pm lucky to get 100Mbps.
Latency still terrible and videos buffer every 5 minutes (iPlayer, YouTube, ITV Hub)
BQM in my sig, a tiny red bar occurring during gaming.

@legacy1, why'd a Cat6 cable be better than a Cat7? It's not the cable l o l.
CAT5e is good for most gigabit Ethernet applications. I'm above that (due to pricing deal) using Cat7 designed to support 10Gbps ethernet but has been tested to transmit muchhhh faster speeds even over 45m or 100Gbps over 10m. Not that my run is anything of that length (it's 6ft).

Hi Vikki,
Yes, it's in Modem Mode now. It was in Router Mode for a few months while troubleshooting this but with no joy or any improvement or progress I returned to Modem Mode again.
Got a letter on Thursday about £15 price increase, total madness! Down yesterday for 6 hours and down Tuesday for 17 hours. Mad!
Still getting spikes in 100-130ms yellow compared to other BQMs on here below 40. Also seeing thicker blue line of average latency compared to most.
Thanks.
