Poor upload speeds and eratic download

ZinG
Dialled in

Recently received the free speed boost to 600mb and everything had been initially fine but noticed the download speed is a little eratic with one minute fast then next not so fast.

On looking at the levels in the router the biggest issue looks like my upstream and that was in the 40mb+ range and now lucky if I can get 18mb. Appears to be T3 timeouts and the channels are not optimal either.

Can someone at VM look into this please?

The bqm is horrendously bad too normally a calm barely changes graph currently it is terrible with dropped packets and all sorts going on

Hi ZinG,

Thanks for coming back to us about this, I can see there is still an issue within the area which I have also raised with the team again so we can get it reported.

Apologies for the inconvenience this may be causing, our engineers will be working hard to get it resolved for you.

Thanks,

Megan_L

Any chance this can be looked at again? Pings and lag all over the place in evenings now.

Power levels seem inconsistent on downstream lots more pre rs errors and now plenty post too.

Upstream qam keep lowering from 64 some evenings down to 16 and plenty of T3 timeouts and here I was thinking about upgrading to 1gig when you can't provide a decent consistent service on 600mb as it is

Hi Zing,

Thanks for reaching back out to us, I haven't been able to find any issues as below?

We need to complete a Pin hole reset of the Hub in an attempt to resolve any unfound issues. Do this by holding a pen in the reset hole on the back of the Hub for 30 seconds. This will reboot the Hub and reset all Hub settings to default. If you have made any changes to the Hub's wireless settings you may need to reconnect your wireless devices to the Hub as the WiFi settings will now be back to default.

Our diagnostics on your home network and Hub have not found any issues that could account for connection drop-outs. This means that the issues are most likely due to the equipment being used in the home.

Regards

Paul.

So the amount of errors is acceptable? and the eratic bqm? What about the power levels on the channels? All I can say is I never had issues like this before.

How does a pin hole reset help matters? All I see is it irritating me with having to reenter port forwarding rules and split my wireless network again. I will do it obviously to see but doubt how the problems are going to improve.

A few hours in and tbh typical evening performance is resumed with wild ping spikes and latency issues the bqm after the red dropped packets (the time this was all reset) are just as bad as every evening for the past few weeks.

The web browsing etc is nowhere near as zippy/snappy as in a morning when these issues are not as bad

All the post RS errors surely this isn't acceptable?? the upload channels have all connected at 64qam not seen them like that in months and no T3 timeouts (at the moment)

Well-informed

Looks like a noisy line to me.

Your graph is how my connection always used to be (almost dead flat no spikes at all), but the stock answer from VM is it looks ok to them, perhaps it is but I know it isn't at all. How do you make it show your bqm when you reply?

risc19
Well-informed

Don't be fooled, my bqm looks fine now but trust me I've had PLENTY of problems in the past.

Would love to hear from someone at VM still get stalling and latency spikes far far more than I ever did before.

The Post RS errors (particularly one channel) are surely not right
