I have an i7, 16gig ram, gigabit net card, wireless ac running at 800+ mbit and still getting 105mbit down but 6mbit up, the up is attrocious, i get better on my mobile, i've ordered a 10gbit cat7 gold cable and if its still giving me the same, well, virgin shall be in for a very peeved off customer indeed, i doubt severely its anything to do with the cabling, roughters aren't sophisticated enough to know a cables rating and besides, cables cat5 especially have carried a lot faster than a measely 200 mbit, we shall soo see
You were right,, they'ld put me on 100 instead of 200, I'm now comfortably getting 200 down but only 12 up now, I'm not trying to be a pain but 12 up, is this the best I can expect or is there things I can do to improve that to about 20ish, I do a lot of movie watching 4k streaming and the kids love the game play,,,, please tell e there is a solution that dosen't cost mpore money but thanks for your answer earlier, I would've been paying for 2 and only getting 1
VM do a couple of paclages with a 20Mbps upload speed like the 200Mbps gamer package, and 350Mbps package, depending if your local CMTS has been upgraded. These packages IIRC will require the Hub 3 (if you don't have one already) I would bear in mind the HUb 3 still has a flaw which causes latency spikes which may affect things like online gaming and streaming.
I am not sure why VM call it the 200Mbps Gamer package as online gaming requires very little bandwidth,1 to 2Mbps is plenty. If you are just watching 4K streams then improving the upload bandwidth will not do much to improve it as the vast majority of the data flows in the downstream direction, about 25Mbps is required for 4k streaming.
Yeah I have hub 3.0, its very laggy at times, I'm supposing there isn't a update yet to sort that out,,, I'll definately ask them for the gamer package solution and then hopefully we're all good to go.
