M500 Poor speed for last few days

Hi,

I am on the M500 package for some time now and SH3 running in "Modem" mode with a third party Netgear router connected to the SH3.

Over the last few days I have noticed the speed to be low as I am getting around 190-210mbps on a wired connection using Speedtest - I was usually getting 400+mbps on wired and wifi but its all dropped.

I attach the SH3 results below so can someone please advise.

Hi John,

Below are the levels from the router running in modem model.  As mentioned earlier in this post, I think its something to do with my Netgear router, as doing a speedtest direct connected to the SH3 the speed is as expected and is only low when I put the SH3 in modem mode and connected everything through my router.  I still need to reset the router and test the speed which someone else mentioned on this thread.

Thanks for all of the update kmb76,

Welcome back to the community.

Sorry to see you're facing issues with the broadband.

Now I've checked your account levels again and they seem to be in spec.

Unfortunately we don't advise third party equipment so we wouldn't necessarily have the know-how on getting it back up and running.

Do Netgear have a troubleshooting guide at all for any issues regarding this?

Hi @kmb786, thanks for your post and I'm sorry to hear that you're having broadband issues.

I've checked your account and I can't identify any issues as to why you'd be having performance problems.

To eliminate any 3rd party interference, could you please run another test using the Superhub 3 in router mode and disabling your 3rd party router?

I’ve already done a test with SH3 in router mode and the speed is as expected 490-510mbps. 

The only test I couldn’t do was a Speedtest with the SH3 in modem mode as my connected laptop could not get an internet connection even though I configured the lan setting on the laptop in the .100 range - eg 192.168.100.10

Hi,

I have managed to reset my Netgear router to factory default and reconfigured it.  Thankfully this has fixed my speed issue and I am now getting 450-520mbps wired and around 220-290mbps on wifi.  I'm still having the issue with disconnections over the last few week but thats another issue.

Below are my current power levels of the SH3.
