M200 package - Getting 8Mps upload and 7Mpb download

I'm in the GU52 area and my broadband is typically very reliable and can exceed 220 Mps at times; however, at around 15:30 today I lost the internet several times and when I checked the speed it was running as slow as 3 Mps for download, and up to 21 Mps for upload, not that the upload is that important.

I have two PCs that are connected via an Ethernet cable and both showed the same issue.

I followed the VM troubleshooting advice and eventually reset the router back to it's factory defaults, but the situation has not changed.

The troubleshooting options in the router didn't throw up any issues and these are the reports from the router.

Re: M200 package - Getting 8Mps upload and 7Mpb download

It looks like someone (not me) has done something as the speed has jumped to 104 Mps download and 18 Mps upload, which is a lot better than it's been all afternoon.

M200 package - Getting 7Mps download and 8Mps upload

The problem is back again and the download speed has dropped to 3Mps and upload doesn't even register on the VM speed test, but the WHICH website shpowed 10 Mps for upload.

Re: M200 package - Getting 7Mps download and 8Mps upload

UK mainland utilisation issues, so many working from home now that the system slows down periodically

Could also be something not set properly in your Hub

Call up your Hub page http://192.168.0.1/ if you're on router mode or http://192.168.100.1/  if you're on modem mode

don't log in  click on Check router status the information that is then shown is in 5 sections copy and paste

the information from each of the sections in turn into a message and post in this thread.

Re: M200 package - Getting 7Mps download and 8Mps upload

Hi Buffer6,

Thanks for the response, but I'm not sure my line speed dropping from 200+Mps to 3Mps is all caused by people working from home; however I do agree it can impact it which is why I doubled my line speed back in March and it had been fine until recently.

When I checked this morning my upload speed was 2 1/2 times faster than my download which makes me think there is something odd going on in the area.

All the best,

Porhan

Hi Guys,

Some of this is going to be identical to the previously posted information. I hope that's okay.
