Lower than expected Upload speeds

Hi I am currently getting lower than expected Upload speeds on my new M500 package.

Download speeds are excellent (higher than expected) but I can't get above 23-24Mbps.

A couple of speed tests:

1. https://speedtest.samknows.com/

Latency
30.1 ms

Jitter
14.5 ms

Download
551 Mbps

Upload
23.6 Mbps

2. https://www.speedtest.net/

Ping 21 ms

Download
551 Mbps

Upload 23.2 Mbps

To confirm, this is when on ethernet connected directly to the router.

I have replaced the ethernet cable with a brand new 2 meter length one to test things. No difference.

The router is running in Modem mode, plugged into a FritzBox 7390 however I have tested both in and out of Modem mode, almost identical results.

According to VM: (https://www.virginmedia.com/broadband/speeds)

Upload Speeds
Advertised Speed: 36 Mbps
Expected Speed Range: 35 - 37 Mbps

Hi orangeloops

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community. Sorry to hear of the upload speed issue.

All looks good from the system check, no issues/area outages. Power levels are fine, and no issues with congestion/SNR.

Can you pop the router into router mode please? Few more tests we need to run.

Best

You will find nothing wrong😑

Hi thanks for the reply John,

More than happy to do this however I have a few systems that rely on my router being connected.

Would you be able to tell me what you need so I can put the router into the mode you require, run the tests and then swap back please.

I have spoken to VM phone support and they asked me to do the same, run speed tests and got exactly the same speeds in router/modem mode.

Thanks!

These are just the final tests we need to run on here 🙂 please let me know when you're able to do this so we can proceed

Kind regards,

Hi John

A tech visited my home today but was unable to resolve the issues.

My hub 4 has been replaced but the issue is still happening. I have created a new thread: https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Speed/Upload-speed-issues-Tech-visited-but-no-fix/m-p/5073873#M...

Is there anything further you can do to assist please?

Also, these are my upstream channels:
