Losing internet connection - 'RCS Partial Service'?

Hi All,

I've started to experience intermittent internet drop outs.  Nothing from the internet for a few minutes, then it comes back fine .. until the next time.  I've rebooted and checked the physical connections.  

I just wondered if anyone can see anything in the logs? (I noticed the 'RCS Partial Service' warning  at the same time as the last drop out)

That network log is a real stinker and confirms the problems you describe.  Power levels, SNR and modulation are all fine (unfortunately, as they usually make for an easy diagnosis and fix by the technicians).  The error counts indicate noise on your local segment - in 24 hours you really shouldn't be seeing 100-500 uncorrected (post-RS) errors on all channels.

Have you checked the coax cable is securely fastened finger tight at both ends?  And have you tried a pinhole reset of the hub?   The reset probably won't help, but it is worth a try.  If still playing up then the forum staff will need to advise on next steps.

Hi,

Yep checked cables and tight both ends.  Reset yesterday and didn't help.

Hopefully the forum team will pick up on this.

I've flagged this for the forum staff, given the time of day you'll probably get a response tomorrow.  Wait for that - the forum staff are UK based and helpful, if you try phoning it in then there's a high chance you'll be dealing with someone who doesn't understand the network log, and will insist everything's looking good despite the log and the error count.

Hi, I've been having the same problems since March and VM are still trying to sort it out. Would you please keep us updated if you get fixed. I know there are lots of people in the same bout so would be pleased to know there's light at the end of a very long tunnel. Thank you.

Funny this i get the same errors on my hub with random d/c from the internet but no one from vm does anything to fix it!
