Internet speed

for the last couple of days our  broad band speed has been a lot lower than normal.  We normally get 100-150, currently we see max 40.

I have tested with and without LAN cable, from many devices.  All report the same speeds.

I have also tried the online VM service checker which reports no problems.

Any service issues in our area please?

What package you on and which Hub do you have?  Are you using powerline adapters at all ?

no adapters, super hub 2 on vivid 152

hub in modem mode.

TV is also struggling with channels last 2 days

Post up your Hub/network connection details and someone will check to see if there is a problem there.  Go to http://192.168.0.1  (or http://192.168.100.1 ) in your browser [there is no need to login] and then click on the  “router status” icon at  top right - and then copy/paste 3 sets of data onto here - the downstream, upstream , &  network logs.  Don't worry about the formatting it can be easily read (by others & not by me!), but try and avoid using screen shots & don’t include personal data or mac addresses

I am no expert but your upstream power levels are out of range at 52 dBmv (50 is recommended top max).  Someone more qualified will comment but i think you may need a technician's visit to adjust the.

As JBrennand says your upstream power levels are maxxed out . (52dBmv 16QAM, 51dBmv 64QAM  or four channels)

Your downstream SNR is also too low.

I would give  the coax cable from the Hub to the cable entry point a quick once over, checking for obvious signs of damage and kinks and check all connectors are hand tight. before arranging a tech visit
