I have had gig 1 broadband for a month and haven’t hit above 500mbs Download speeds the entire time…
even through wired connection I still hit below 500mbs.

Could be for any number of reasons and not all of them VMs fault, someone will soon ask you to post details from the modem to check signal levels and that you have the right config file, i would post them in anticipation if i were you 🙂

Check if you are getting full speed to the HUB:

Thank you for reaching out to us in our community and welcome, sorry to hear you aren't seeing your expected speeds, our community is here to help, were you able to to check your speed Via Sam Knows Real speed as advised by carl?
When you are running test what device are you using, does it have a gigabit network card, are you using a Cat 6 or above cable.
Please try all the above and let us know how you get on.
