Re: High latency to european servers

I have also been experiencing problems for over a week, in the Egham area. This has made multiplayer games unplayable (e.g. World of Tanks, which has EU servers), as well as responses from some websites really slow. Completely unacceptable performance and disappointing resolve time.

Unfortunately, I have to go through landlord to report problems, and it's difficult to communicate how he should report / complain. He has been told to reboot the router etc. (as if we hadn't already done this), which is of course completely futile. Seems there is a problem with the way in which Virgin media deals with faults, and it's really insulting for people to be told that there is no problem. A lot of people may have no idea what's going on, don't know of this forum post, and are frustratingly still being told that there is no fault.

Do you really need more tracerts or ping stats?

Will be advising landlord to attempt to seek compensation (regardless of some other people's opinions in this thread, the internet has been unfit for purpose for over a week now). No point threatening to move to another provider, they all give the same bs at some point. Maybe it's better just to cancel the internet completely. Postal chess is underrated anyway, and mailing harddisks gives me about the same latency and bandwidth.

Please fix.

Utterly fed up now. It sounded like yesterday we had a promising start where it was settling down on 30ms, now back to 500ms+

Even worse is imagine how many people now are on the phone to the India Call Centre being talked through all the crap. All you have to do is search 'virginmedia ping' on twitter and theres loads of people being led through crap. Having Engineer visits to replace modems and still not solved. How on earth have we got to this?

I fully appreciate the situation in terms of updating the Service Status means people would connect the dots incorrectly (we've already seen someone in this thread say there connection has been down a month which we know isnt connected to this specific issue hence Virgin want to "avoid" the confusion). However how hard is it to put the Service Status to yellow with a message along the lines of 'Connections to Mainland Europe which likely affects online gaming and other speed critical services is impacted'.??

Im curious if anyone else is having issues with the V6 box at the moment, since this started im having this update / reboot loop all the time.
