Re: High latency to european servers

Issue seems to be back again. Pings gone from 20ms to over 200ms. Getting kicked of servers for ping / cant join due to "insufficient network bandwidth" on my end.

Re: High latency to european servers

While there is still a bit of jitter (variation in ping caused by queuing, contention and serialization effects on the path through the network) my connection has been stable since the aforementioned fix went in. Aorta still seems the worst part of the route into Germany for me.

Saterlay, toms88, I notice your trace routes were to the USA (Amazon Web Services & IMDb) and Dublin, Ireland (DuckDuckGo). Have you still got issues pinging mainland Europe? Of course as we don't know what the issue/fix was we don't know what was affected, but for me at least I was seeing the delays across the Channel, pings to the US were not as badly affected. This is the problem with the lack of information from VM, we don't know what issues were caused by this problem and what may therefore be unrelated.

I had one ping spike (that I noticed) on Tuesday; I got kicked off a server for having a 175 ms ping, even though every time I'd checked it was between 29 and 49 ms. I've not noticed any since.

I also had a couple of reboots on Tuesday morning around 10:30 GMT. As I'm still using a 2ac I wouldn't have thought it was a firmware download attempt, which I understand is happening this week for some Hub 3s.

Re: High latency to european servers

@ Darkman

My experience has been the same, ping I would say is normal. (area 20 RH1)

However speedtest to Virgin servers are half on my download speed, to non virgin servers I will get max.

Re: High latency to european servers

Is this back to 'normal' for me? Apparently so. Just the minutely ping spikes to ~100ms that most people get with the below average Virgin Super Hub 3.

I've been a customer for about 6 weeks. And let's just say. I wish I never started. Please Virgin just let me cancel, just let me cancel and end this. I can stop wasting your time with complaints. And we'll all be happy.

Re: High latency to european servers

Just wanted to throw my two cents in the mix. I have been experiencing these issues for the past month now, where connections to European Servers have been unusable. On speedtest.com, choosing servers from Germany for example, the speed jumps up but then instantly begins to decrease as if the connection is lost. This makes gaming on European servers impossible. This problem definitely hasn't been fixed (for me at least!).

It's definitely an issue relating only to Virgin Media, as I have done the same test at work (who are on BT), and the speed is constant, and does not drop off at all.
