Good speed on broadband speed checker, bad when downloading

I've a really strange problem - using the internet normally, zoom calls etc, are all fine - the broadband speed checker is showing good rates. However, whenever I try and download from certain sites (e.g. EA or Corsair) I end up with a download speed of around 26kb (yes, kb!) per second. This only seems to happen on some sites, and mainly gaming sites! I can play okay, but download speeds are horrific.

I've also a 2nd (much slower) line with a different provider (for work use), and swapping over to that is the only way I can download at a decent speed (well, better than 26kb - 5mb/s instead) - I'm mentioning this as swapping over eliminated the PC as being the issue.

So I'm left with a situation where I can't download from sites using VM but can with a different connection!

Is this VM "throttling" me from sites, or something else wrong? FWIW, here's my info...

You have a lot of Post RS Errors and T3 Timeouts plus your upload stream power levels are sitting a bit high. This could indicate a fault or could be errors from a previous fault.

Have you tried a full factory reset and see how quickly the errors rise again if at all? Hold in the pinhole at the rear of the router for at least 50 seconds and then release (the lights will flash while holding in the pinhole reset button after about 10-15 seconds) then allow 5 minutes for the router to reboot and re-sync the connection.
Please ensure that your WiFi network password is still readable on the Hub sticker before you do this or that you at least have a copy of your original network password 🙂

Hi - Apologies for the delay in replying.

 

I did the pin reset, and am happy to report that I've no errors in my log any more, and I can actually download again at decent speeds!

 

So everythings working again, and I'm happy. 🙂
