Gig1 broadband - what are users getting speed wise when downloading?

Hi all,

Just wondered what users are getting with the 1gig package when downloading files over a wired connection?

I've never seen my connection go over 35 MB/S down over Xbox/steam/blizzard/uplay/Origin/torrents/nzb's for example.

Are the restrictions in place or is this normal?

Thanks

You’ll be bandwidth limited by the server you’re connecting to.

What results do the speed tests in the xbox network settings yield?

See, that's what I was hoping for which is the correct speed. Something is up.

What does www.samknows.com/realspeed tell you (only works in router mode)

Re: Gig1 broadband - what are users getting speed wise when downloading?

I'm using a Tplink router and speed tests are fine 947Mbps down and 52Mbps up so no issues on that front.  Even tried steam/Blizzard/ uplay etc tests in the early hours and I still get the same.

Re: Gig1 broadband - what are users getting speed wise when downloading?

Could be a QOS issue on the router?

Try hardwiring to the hub directly and see if it’s any different.

Re: Gig1 broadband - what are users getting speed wise when downloading?

Steam peaked at 79 MB/s last night which is the highest i have seen it.

QOS is no enabled on the router, still unsure why why so many service i'm using don't seem to take advantage of the faster speed i'm paying for.
