Gig1 - New Hub 5 - No DOCSIS 3.1 channels

walderston

Sorry for the new thread...

Received the the new Hub 5 yesterday to upgrade from my Hub 4 but noticed its not getting any 3.1 channels on the up or down. On the 4 I had it for both.

I've tried resetting Hub etc to no avail. There is a SNR issue since late Jan but I wouldn't have thought it would have stopped me getting the 3.1 channels especially since the Hub 4 got them.

You almost certainly have the 3.1 channels, it’s just the Hub5 firmware is not displaying them. It’s a bug that has not been corrected since the Hub5 was issued. Mine is exactly the same.

Is the lack of reporting 3.1 DOCSIS channels just another Hub 5 defect ?

Hi walderston,

Sorry to hear of the Hub 5 issues with the 3.1 channels. We have checked and it is reporting the same here, we've tried to run some tests via SamKnows but can't as the Hub is reporting it is in modem mode.

Have you ran any tests? Waht are you getting wired?

suffering on the upload (and with packet loss) but that’s likely the SNR issue that’s been going on since Jan.

Just thought I’d have 3.1 channels like I did before on the Hub4.

Upload latency is fine so not a single flow big buffer do you have your own router?

Test PC in safe mode with networking and not router in modem mode

Ah wasn't sure if it was a general Hub5 issue or a my Hub5 issue. Knowing that its a general thing resolves my query...

How many channels does the hub report in the "overview". I believe it displays the correct information in that table, the details further down are just missing.

Thats all I have in the 'Status' tab.

Way of knowing if c3.1 channel is active on Hub 5.
