Gig 1 Connection slow ever since the upgrade

Hiya,

I am having issues with my Virgin Media Broadband connection. I have moved package which has now put me onto the Gig1 internet service (I am in Slough). Before when I had the M600 package as part of my internet connectivity I got near or over 600mpbs but ever since the move to Gig1 on average I get 370 mpbs to 400 mpbs. That is a far cry from what I should be getting. I really need this looked into as my work entails a lot of downloads and uploads and I have to run a production unit. I also have family members who work in care and when I am working the speeds is greatly appreciated. I do kind of now regret moving away from the M600 but I thought I would get the benefits of the extra download speeds.

Just for extra clarification right now I am using a 5G dongle so that this issue can be looked into. So right now I just have the router/modem (virgin) with 1 wired laptop to check the speeds.

Pretty sure there should be more than 16 D/S DOCSIS 3 channels....

Just as an addition I have followed the steps by the reset etc which is mentioned on the other posts of the similar issues I am having. I have also called in twice where I have been told that they will send a signal which will fix the issue and nothing has changed.

Are you connecting on wifi or on ethernet cable?

The Hub4 is still only wifi5 and so will never deliver above about 600mbps (its physics) on wifi. You need wifi6 equipment to deliver the higher speeds.

So can you connect a computer/laptop by ethernet cable and see what that gets - should be ~960mbps. If you are getting that but only getting ~400 on wifi then it may be that the Hub4 wifi is poorer than that on the Hub3 and you may need to "optimise" it

I do not work for VM. My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & BT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired, 2 on WiFi) Hub5 in modem mode with Apple Airport Extreme Router +2 Airport Express's & TP-Link Archer C64 WAP. On Volt 350Mbps, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.

I am on ethernet connectivity only right now to eliminate any wifi issues. I also do not use the WiFi on the hub itself as I use a mesh wifi 6e system when things are good.

For clarification:

Cat5, Cat5e, Cat 6, Cat 7 and Cat 8 cables (tried them all) gives me no more than 400mbps wired directly into the hub 4. Like I said right now I only have 1 laptop wired into the hub and nothing else is connected in anyway.

So I have just posted what my Hub 4 is showing. Like I said I only have 1 wired laptop in right now so I can at least get it resolved so I can get the speeds I pay for.

Pretty sure there should be more than 16 D/S DOCSIS 3 channels....
