Tuning in

Im a new customer (just got fibre installed yesterday) and im paying for the 100mb package.ive done the speed test on virgins website and various other site and all seem to be around 47mb download and 8mb upload.this isnt acceptable for £44 a month when im paying for the 100mb package.i dont buy a takeaway and expect 4 slices out of my pizza to be missing.are these speeds to be expected or is there a problem?

How are you measuring the speeds?  What device are you using. WiFi or ethernet connection?

My name is NOT Alessandro. That's just a tag Virginmedia sticks on some contributors. Please ignore it.

OK so we need to check that the signal levels have been set correctly.

Set your browser to 192.168.0.1 and check the downstream, upstream and log data. For each, copy and paste the data here. As text, not screenshot.

Im at work until 5pm tonight so when i get home i will be able to do it.thanks for the reply and hopefully the problem can be resolved and from seeing theres no reply saying these speeds are normal there obviously is a problem which isnt good when ive only just started using virgin media for broadband.

No it's not right.  You should be getting the full 100Mb with an ethernet connection.  WiFi is different - speeds are not guaranteed.
