Cloudfare DNS

I understand from this video that this will speed up my web browsing. I am using cloudfare DNS on my mac (Don't Worry Its Free)

1.1.1.1

0.1.0.1

I am wondering There's something in the video it went past to quickly did i catch it right. Do We need to Put the DNS in the Router as well and how do we do it

Thanks

Re: Cloudfare DNS

there is no reason this will speed up browsing. While it might its not guaranteed. and you can't change the DNS from the Superhub

Re: Cloudfare DNS

It's 1.0.0.1 not 0.1.0.1 for the second DNS server.

Aside from that what apcyberax has said is correct, changing DNS server should not speed up browsing as your local system and your router both cache DNS records up to the TTL on the record and even when a request does have to leave the network to query the assigned DNS server the result should be given in the space of milliseconds.

Re: Cloudfare DNS

Hi,

I tried Cloudflare DNS and didn't notice any different from Google DNS for about half a day, when it came out.
Other then CloudFlare DNS went down, that was the end of the test.

If you don't have a 3rd party router and only the Hub 3 you will need to do in the PC settings.
The only reason for me using Google DNS is that VM DNS Servers was having issues awhile ago.
