Broadband speed slow, told coverage issue?

I have been experiencing very slow broadband and some periods of non at all. I should have 200 . before lockdown i was often achieving that. Since lockdown it has been considerably slower- 45 ish during the day often.

Since this morning my speed is so slow ethernet and wifi  (and dropped out a few times) I cannot do my work. I called Virgin and had a very unsuccessful phone call where the agent told me her screen said it was a coverage inside my house and she needed to send me a booster that she guaranteed would sort the problem

Could soemone explain the logic. The router hasnt moved, why would my I suddenly require a booster when i have not previously. I am not at all confident that this will fix the problem

Re: Broadband speed slow, told coverage issue?

What is a wired connection like?

Check you’re also not being charged for the booster as well.
