Broadband speed only 20-25% of advertised speed

Hi

My broadband speed is consistently slower than the advertised speed. I was on m350 and recently upgraded to m500 but didn't see any changes in speed. I joined 02 and was upgraded to Gbit broadband but still my download speed hasn't changed, my upload speed has now increased. I have tried multiple devices and wired connections buy always get the same speeds.

I have the hub 4 in modem mode and use Deco mesh WiFi. I have no issues with my phone on virgin broadband at my in-laws so it's clearly capable of the speeds however at home it won't go over 250mb

I have tried the connections tests etc but it just tells me to restart hub which I have multiple times.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

Can you run a test wired direct to the hub and not using your own kit so we can work out if its a VM issue or your own equipment that's not up to the job

My hub is in modem mode so WiFi is off on the hub, as I stated I have tried wired and wireless and get the same speeds.

My neighbour has just told me he had the same issue and it was the coax splitter that needs changing.

Until you put the Hub back into router mode and test via https://www.samknows.com/realspeed/ we cant help you. There is a high probability of it being your Deco thats the bottleneck

Hub is back in modem mode but that site won't work?

I have tried wired to hub and am still getting same bottle neck speeds as before.

Same on WiFi

found a diff link to that site, here is the results on my laptop wired direct to hub. i think we can rule the deco out here

The thing is you are still measuring your own network speed from the computer to the hub.

Samknows Realspeed will tell you if the problem is on the VM side or the hub itself.

But the realspeed won't work? Says I'm not connected to a virgin WiFi network but I am.

The realspeed website only works in router mode and not modem mode.

If you could post your signal levels of your hub we can look at that also

I changed to router mode and it didn't work, that's when I did the screenshot above
