Re: Area 15 ISSUE

Another day, same problem.

Those of you fortunate enough to have Fibre alternatives in your area I highly suggest looking at switching, sucks for some of us that the choice is only between this poor service or < 10 Mb ADSL.

Re: Area 15 ISSUE

Well, enough is enough.

I have just subscribed a broadband service with Sky, hoping to have a better experience.

I hope you guys can have this issue solved as soon as possible, good luck and goodbye!

Re: Area 15 ISSUE

Right, just rang Sky they WILL pay your cancellation fee to virgin via credit up to £100, and if you have tv up to £200. So you can cancel and move to sky.

Re: Area 15 ISSUE

So i just had a visit from an engineer and it seems to be a utilization "issue"

engineer said that due to our area having a lot of users + Christmas everyone being at home ... the area was using a high amount of its bandwidth just not high enough for a ticket to be raised and it to be scaled up. so the fix in this scenario is to wait it out and after holidays levels should go back to normal.

And that is it. they are monitoring it but its easing off so nothing will be done 100% we just have to sit it out.

Now i can see why they did not inform anyone of this because telling people "its not bad enough to warrant a response, just would not sit well with customers so they went for "keep quiet this will all blow over".

keep this in mind when and if we receive a response from our complaints.

Re: Area 15 ISSUE

if its utilization then there is nothing to fix. Upgrade work for utilization can take months to years.

Re: Area 15 ISSUE

If it was just an issue of the network hitting capacity, wouldn't the packet loss drop off during the night?

Some of the biggest spikes are happening between 2-5am...

Re: Area 15 ISSUE

So this is going to happen every Christmas and the fallout afterwards?

If that’s the case then I’ll be off to someone else, that’s just ridiculous.
