Area 11 - Edinburgh Speeds

Hi staff. 

Horrendous speeds tonight, all night. On a 200mb connection and getting 25-30 after all usual reboots and kicking devices off to speed test.

The neighbours have same issue, all connections are checked and secure.

Service status page is down. Can staff check this out and reply please?

Hopefully not a return to the utilisation  issues of last few years.

I've been having similar problems. Posted a BQM in another thread but it's probably fallen several pages down by now.

Thanks for the answer.
Is this again considered a utilisation issue with a fault code. I would again like you to discount the internet part of my services while this has been going on until it’s sorted.
Any idea of timescales please @Nat_J

Same issue with ours. just terrible in the evenings, we are in the same area.

Big discounts needed and Virgin needs to sort this out soon. Been going on/off like this for ages.

Im on with Virgin Chat right now guys. 
We have a new utilisation issue, with fault code. Estimated fix is may 2018

Shocking! Once again another example of deliberate under-engineering/investment. Same issue looks to be rearing its head in Glasgow (G11) - new CMTS installed 6 weeks ago, BQM and speed test results great for 1st two weeks, now becoming more and more irregular...<10Mbps all last night, amongst others. Evening 'BQM oversubscription lift' starting to appear - from 3 weeks before the xmas school break...oh yes, expect that excuse to be played to death "you must expect, accept, and continue to pay full price for all drops right down to <10Mbps over 24/7/365 - especially holiday periods...and no! we will not inform all affected customers"...theft by any definition.

"Hopefully not a return to the utilisation  issues of last few years." - when did VM 'fix' your last issue?

We were “ fixed at the start of this year (I think)
It’s been off and on for years now, without a proper fix.

Check out Edinburgh coverage of HyperOptic at https://www.hyperoptic.com/map/ - they are currently installing in come areas with a lot of local interest registered. Do similar (packages include 1Gbps down and up). Similar picture in Glasgow and a fair number of other UK cities. In the meantime follow the usual 4-8 week VM complaint procedure, get deadlock letter and head over to CISAS for compensation adjustment. At the same time, consider local competition alternative, if suitable.
