may seem like a silly question but are you in a 500 mbps area I am on the ooomph package as well but only in a 350 mbps area it stops 2 streets down and my cabinet won't be upgraded until more demand for the speed upgrade regardless off if I am paying for it or not I need X amount of people more to sign up for it before my cabinet is upgraded. 

And as much BS as that sounds this is exactly what I was told over the phone that the demand in my area is not great enough to justify the cost of upgrading to 500 mbps and as They only Guarentee 250 mbps download speed on 500 packag which I get 380 ish then I can not cancel my contract without penalty. FYI I ordered this before it went live on the grounds that I was promised that anyone on the 350 mbps broadband which I was at the time will automatically be able to get 500 mbps after ordering through a specialist team.

How would i find this information out?

Our area has only recently had the cables/boxes put in?

I have no issues with latency etc. The speed is the same consistent speed no matter what time of the day. Its just not what i expected.

Hi,

firstly check if your actually on 500mb service by opening your browser and type in 192.168.0.1 once done don’t sign in just click on check router stats on the bottom with the red arrow I have showed on the pic:

once you clicked router stats click on configuration then scroll down and check your primary downstream service flow and primary upstream flow max traffic rate to see if your on 500mb service:

How would i do this on a TP Link Archer C7?

Saying that, I've bought the above router and i am now using that instead of the virgin hub which is in modem mode.

I can say that my speed is alot better, however the speed when upstairs is really poor even when using the provided powerlines.
