500mbps disappointed.

It is extremely unfair considering Ireland has had their standalone 500mbps for a while and virgin is going with british tradition of ripping the brits off. lovely. :/ I was looking forward to a speed boost today.

Re: 500mbps disappointed.

I have to agree. I would pay for 500Mb/s but not interested in V.VIP.
I don't need to TiVO boxes (just me at the misses at home and one bedroom one lounge - not interested in having it in the bedroom).

Don't care about Sports or Movie Channels.

My Speed
350MB/s.

Re: 500mbps disappointed.

The only positive outcome is the upload speed upgrade, but then again it is still very low. I know virgin will eventually make 500 a standalone broadband tier but this goes to show virgin isn't interested in "boosting" customers speeds now.

Re: 500mbps disappointed.

Also - I have noticed the new TV V.VIP removes channels from the full house package!
KIDS TV for one - does that mean I can have a discount for you moving them out? £12 a month should do it

My Speed
350MB/s.

Re: 500mbps disappointed.

I’d be willing to pay a premium for the extra 120Mb as well but very disappointing to see VM not offer it as a standalone yet.

I too, do not need the other products.

Re: 500mbps disappointed.

thats actually really cheeky by virgin. It is quite obvious they are trying to lure in us speed lovers and it will never work. Plus, for £135 a month? I don't think so.

Especially when you consider how much value HyperOptics 1Gb is.

Shame it’s a lottery as to whether you can get it or not.

Re: 500mbps disappointed.

Oh yeah Hyperoptic is immensely cheaper than virgin media. But, yes I am afraid it is a lottery and based on age of the building I think as well.

Re: 500mbps disappointed.

Yeah, I’m in a new build house (3 years old) and I signed up for HO when I first moved in but they seem to be targeting new large Apartment Blocks around city centre and Media City UK.

They were laying new lines around Stretford last time I drove past.

But I’m in the North part and they confirmed no plans yet.

I’d love 1Gb up and 1Gb down for £47!

Re: 500mbps disappointed.

Do a hub reboot you should then get the new 38Mb upload speed.
