If you're getting more than half your contract speed, there isn't much they will do outwith basic troubleshooting.

If it goes below 250 they'll need to sort it or you can leave penalty free.

Just keep logging/calling the fault in till they act

We probably need to establish if this is both wired and wireless devices?

Wireless speed isn't guaranteed.

Connect a 1GB enabled computer/laptop, with up to date drivers, via a NEW and working Cat5e/6a ethernet cable, directly to the Hub which you have put into “modem mode” (https://www.virginmedia.com/help/virgin-media-hub-modem-mode ). This ensures that NO other devices are connected

Test speeds at https://speedtest.samknows.com/ - try on 2 different browsers.

If they are still low – boot your device into Windows safe+networking mode - to disable any potentially interfering software - and try again.

There are many posts on here (I have a list of ~30!) where QoS software, unknown/flaky software, old network card drivers, corrupted browsers, bad cables or other connected devices are limiting speeds on tests.

Report back what that gets. And See message 9 in this thread and… 3 in the second

Hi @Gizmo94,

Welcome to our Community Forums and thanks for your post. It's great to have you on board with us 🙂

We offer a minimum guaranteed download speed so If you have subscribed to the M500 package and are getting around 390 Mbps on a wired connection that is more than half of the advertised speed. The minimum guaranteed speed for this tier is 258 Mbps.

We have some info here on Broadband Speeds

I've also ran some checks on our system and everything looks good this end 🙂

I trust this clarifies things but if you need help with anything else, let me know.
