500mb only getting half that on M500

Ok been a while since I posted but the last month or so I’m only getting half the speed of what I’m paying for, I’ve noticed it’s taking a little longer to loads websites up and also downloads are slower than normal.

I will state now this is across ALL devices and the 1 device that’s the pc that runs with an Ethernet cable plugged in the back of it. I was hitting 500 or slightly ore when doing a speed test (via Ethernet cable) now I’m not getting anywhere near it. It’s like I’m on a previous package before on the M300.

Paying £54 a month and not hitting the advertised speeds is way below what I should be getting.

I only have my iPad & mobile using the wifi but not continuously, why am I not hitting 500mb?

Maybe you download too much and VM limit you or others in your area are downloading too.

There are some potential issues in the stats (high up power level, T3's, high RS errors) - but to be sure can you start from a blank sheet by doing this...

Switch the Hub off and unplug it from the mains supply for five minutes. Whilst it's off, do a quick check that all of your coax cable connections are in nice and "finger" tight - at the Hub and wall box and also at any connectors etc. Ensure there are no “unterminated cable loose ends. Disconnect all the connections and reconnect to be sure. Also check that the internal wiring is ok with no kinking or chaffing, check that all looks good with the outside cabling and wall box (no “staples, etc.,) piercing the cables.. Then switch the Hub back on and leave ~5 minutes

When all done, check back in the settings and ensure that the RS error counts and T3 errors have all reset to 0. Then check every hour or so to see if they start reappearing - they shouldn't. If they do (particularly the postRS ones) you have a problem (noise) that only a Tech visit will sort.

My speeds are a ridiculous 90mbps and it’s now deciding to cut out every few mins….this is not what I’m paying for.

As for downloading too much I don’t think so, it’s almost as if Virgin is throttling speeds.
