Hi, right i have checked and still same problem with wifi, however the wifi speed works fine on my neighbours and i tried a friends who also has the 500mbps and on their routers my phone actually gets speeds of around 450mb yet on my wifi router at home im getting no higher than 105mb.

 

So after looking at that, its is know my devices arent to blame and that a wifi problem is occuring with my router.

Can this be looked into please by support?

Is your HUB3's 5GHZ channel set to 20/40/80HZ and what is the Link Speed on your devices (in the devices own settings) it should be 866Mb/s if you are set up correctly and close enough to a good signal.

If I am set to only 20/40HZ I cannot get near my 350Mb/s as the Link Speed of 433Mb/s minus overheads is far less.

went into the settings and yes its set 20/40/80hz

Right, i have someone who works for BT (a friend) who has come around to my home and he said it looks like my router is capped at 100mb wifi speed.

We did a wifi analyser and standing by the box on numerous channels all in the green we was getting tops 100mbps but around 30mb upload speed.

We decided to connect to my neighbours router to double check, and her speed was 350mb and we was getting wifi speeds in her living room of 320mbps.

So the issue lies with the router NOT my devices.

Please can someone who is admin arrange for a replacement router please?

Because another hub would solve all your problems just like VM not doing wireless would solve the waste of hubs every time theirs a speed problem.Smiley Sad

if you read the thread correctly instead of just assuming its a speed issue you will CLEARLY see when connected to my router no one persons internet is above 100mb. when connected to another virgin router internet speeds are normal.

The issue lies with the router otherwise the same issues would arise with other virgin routers/.

You never added the LINK Speed of your devices (in your HOME not next door) above when you replied to me.

There could be a reason if they are in same room and connecting at a lower Link Speed than they should be at 80HZ but hard to tell TBH.

Still waiting for admin if they can arrange a replacement router or a engineer visit please?

Im paying £100 a month for this so i really do need help here.

Did you ever do the suggested "pinhole factory reset" of the Hub?
I cant seem to see any mention of the outcome.

EDIT: Also you don't say specifically, but your BT friend (or anyone else)  test the wifi connection on his/her phone and get ~100 on yours and then ~450 on the neighbours at the same time as you did?

Hi yes we both connected to the neighbours and mine and both got 100mb on mine, got 350 on neighbours.

What we did was analyze the wifi channels too, and change to ones not being used in area and still not higher than 100mb.

We connected the neighbours router to my line at home and got around 380 download speed via wifi. connected my router and it was 100mb again.

So i keep saying this over and over, its got to be the router thats the issue.
