350mb keeps dropping to 90mb

chunk1982
On our wavelength

good evening all, i think i have a couple of issues maybe one with my internet and one with my hub?, i currently have the 350mb package however most days when i try and game online on my pc my internet cuts off for a few seconds/minutes, then reconnects and im stuck at 90mb however only when hardwired, wifi still shows as 350mb!!, ive tried different ports on the hub as well as hardwiring the laptop into the hub along with several ethernet cables and all stays at 90mb, factory resetting the hub via pin hole tends to fix, i have phoned C/S in the past but they just make me hard reset the hub and tell me its ok but surly i shouldnt be having to do this daily??. can anyone offer some advice please. i will post my stats.

over the weekend my issue has been bad!. i keep getting disconnected from games and xbox party chat, the more this goes on the more im adamant i have 2 issues.

clearly there is an issue with my line due to high power levels and i think this is whats causing speeds to keep fluctuating from 350-250mb however im convinced the ethernet controller in the hub is failing which is why i end up being stuck on 90+mb hardwired yet keep 350+mb via wifi.

tomorrow my upgrade should start as i upgraded to the 500mb package so im hoping these issues can be fixed pretty quick

many thanks

just a little update...

reading around the forum i came across a post that mentioned using an attenuator, this jogged my memory so went through my pot and found a 6db attenuator. fitted that so its kinda fixed my power levels at least for now

Hi @chunk1982,

Thank you for your posts and welcome back to our community forums. We're here to help.

I'm so sorry to hear that you've been having some issues with your connection recently, though I'm glad to hear that attaching an attenuator recently helped with your power levels. Has it also improved the quality and stability of your connection?

Thanks,

hi @Zach_R over the weekend ive noticed that trying to game online is a bit hit sand miss so i setup a monitor and this is the past 24h

yeah cancel that my speeds are all over the place now from as low as 40mb up to 550mb amd all in between

paul

Hi Paul, sincerest apologies for these interruptions to your service.

Thank you for keeping us updated. Having had a look on our systems I have not identified any issues with the signal coming into your hub from the exchange - all signal levels are currently within spec.

Regarding the speeds, from what I can see they are currently a little lower than expected, averaging around 377mbps download and 36 upload. Although this is lower than the expected range it is still above the minimum for M500 of 258mpbs.

Would you be able to post another live BQM so we can see how you are getting on today?

All the best.

Molly
