I've got the 200Mb broadband package, with hub4, and added TP-Link to give me decent wifi.
Last few days have been really slow, around 45Mb
This morning it's 25Mb ...
Virgin website support - postcode - all is fine in my area.
Any ideas?

QoS is Quality of Service and is used to allocate bandwidth to different devices etc. Most users don't use this facility and switch QoS off and it will affect throughput.

Just checked again, a few hours later, and it's nearly 100Mb
Getting better, but still only half what signed up for (ie 200Mb)
Does the speed go up and down depending on how much my neighbours are using?

What TP-Link model is it? Are there any QoS services running on the TP-Link?
As for your neighbours, the VM infrastructure is a shared on like all ISP's. So yes, if you are in an area that has a lot of "busy" users, it will impact the broadband for everyone.

Thanks for your help
The TP Link model is Deco.
What QoS?

Update - have found QoS on Deco ...
Nothing set on there, no bandwidth settings

In the Deco Internet Connection settings it's set up for IPV4. Is this correct, or should it be IPV6?

VM UK do not use IPv6 at the moment, only VM Ireland. So IPv4 is correct.
If you are using a Deco Mesh system, are you using the VM Hub in modem mode?

Thanks for advice about IPV4
Yes am using VM Hub in modem mode, as the Hub 4 wifi range didn't reach bedroom at the back of the house
Wifi works well with the Deco

30-36Mb download speed today. I must have a lot of busily online neighbours, sharing the same Virgin box at the end of the street. Lot of people working from home I suppose. I was promised an average download speed for my bundle of 260Mb ...
I've done all the restarts recommended by Virgin, and the problem remains. I could ask for an engineer to visit, but if the slow speed is simply because of neighbours sucking all the bandwidth, which I think it is, then I don't see what he or she can do.
Any ideas?
