1GB upgrade from 500mb no difference

Hi I upgraded from hub3 500mb 4 days ago to hub4 1GB but my download speeds are at best no better than what I had before. Maximum achieved has been 490mb. I’ve tried factory reset and chatting online to Virgin who promised they’d altered the settings but still no difference.

I’m underwhelmed to say the least

i have just upgraded to a hub5  can you please tell me your hard wired speed

I don’t use anything wired except the Virginmedia 360 box that indicates 1000mb and a smart TV (100mb card) that indicates 98.8mb  Other than that all my stuff uses Wi-Fi

Thank you for reaching back out and for the above information, looks like you are getting the expected speeds with the above information, when running a test Via SamKnowsRealSpeed what speed is hitting the Router, this will establish whether it is a fault or capability of the devices.

There is no point in you upgrading past 500Mbps if you're running everything off Wi-Fi.

I didn’t ask to be upgraded, I was offered a “free” upgrade if I moved from “mighty oomph” to O2 Volt package, I think I said that earlier in this chat 😊
