Hi, have been on the phone 2 times with agents trying to fix this problem. I have the 1Gbit internet and a hub 4 but my download speed is very slow anything between 200 - 700 Mb after a lot of troubler shooting with the second agent. ii went into safe mode and got a connection of 900 Mb great but still not the advertised speed but back in windows varies greatly

Latency is pretty slow only a couple under 20ms
Have been reading the forums to find a solution but to no avail.
I was using the Hub 4 in modem mode but another problem forced me to put it back into Router mode this made no or little difference My router is a TP-Link Archer 6C V2 and can handle 1 Gb and the link speed is 1000Mb full-duplex. Having tried a number of things to find out what the problem could be tried different browsers etc in private browsing did get me a speed improvement in firefox but not what I should get
Having done a lot of reading on the subject I bought new cables Cat 8 to rule them out of the equation it did nothing to the speed
I did try to do a speed test from sanknows.com/realspeed/ as recommended by Virgin Media but it says
this could be because someone from Virgin Media is monitoring my speed as the first agent said they would put in a request to monitor it
Reading through my previous post when I first got the Hub 4 and the slow speed was down to a faulty hub 4 and everything worked fine when the engineer changed hub 4 was replaced
I think I need a new hub 4, this will probably fix the problem like it did the last time
I will let everyone know if they change it and it works

So you are getting the proper speeds over ethernet when in safe mode?
Retest the Hub in Router mode and the Windows device is in Safe Mode with Networking Support. Connect directly to the Hub with a Cat 6a cable and see what speed shows from www.samknows.com/realspeed. ?
Don't forget the maximum speed you will ever see from ethernet on a Hub 4 is approx 950mb, and approx. 550mb on wifi.
I'm a Very Insightful Person, I'm here to share knowledge, I don't work for Virgin Media. Learn more

Hi dsg257
Sorry you have had to pop on here
I did run a quick check on a few things and I can see you have had an engineer visit since your post
Can we please ask what was advised by the engineer

After the engineer came out and checked the connection and cables i did a bit of searching on network problems with my onboard intel network card i225-v
I found intel i225-v forum which led me to the Asus website for the ROG STRIX Z490-F GAMING with the bios update for intel ME after this everything worked as it should giving me a download speed of 886.88 Mbps and an upload of 52.61 Mbps
I hope this helps others fix their network speed test
