Weak security message

I’ve just started getting a “weak security” message on iPhone and iPad.  When I look into it, is says “configure router to use WPA2(AES) or WPA3 security type.  Is my broadband secure? What do I need to do to ensure that my information is stored securely whilst using wifi? Thanks in advance
