Re: Weak security alert on my wifi

Hi,

Thanks for info but I cannot get onto page via 192.168.0.1 - it keeps telling me that someone else is already logged into this account and only one person can be logged on! Please try later?

Help!

Re: Weak security alert on my wifi

Hi Kaff55,

Thanks for using the forums to get this issue with this Weak Security alert looked into, I am sorry that another problem has occurred whilst following the tips on Andrew-G's link.

This issue can pop up sometimes and usually a factory reset will help get you logged into 192.168.0.1.

I have a link here - Factory Reset - which will explain how to do it 🙂

Please do this now and try to login to your Hub once again.

Thanks,

Megan_L

Re: Weak security alert on my wifi

Hi Megan

I am still having real trouble in logging into 192.168..0.1 even after the factory reset of the router.  It’s not recognising any passwords and when I check the router log there are error messages and critical messages for today!

I am a bit of a technophobe so this is all very difficult for me….

Help!

Kathy

Re: Weak security alert on my wifi

Hi @Kaff55

Thanks for keeping us updated about this.

We are sorry this is still happening, what error and critical messages are showing just so we know what to diagnose?

Thanks

You need to make sure you have access to the default passwords for the hub before resetting, which will be on a pull-out card or sticker on the bottom of the hub otherwise you won't be able to access it once reset. Once you have reset the hub it will go back to these defaults on the card/sticker.

When you are resetting the hub, try the procedure recommended by @jbrennand in message #3 below

https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Networking-and-WiFi/Can-t-access-Super-Hub-3-settings/m-p/42578...

Once the hub has reset, you ideally want to try to access it first of all with your computer plugged in with a network cable, rather than using wi-fi to do the setup.

Once the hub has reset fully, try entering http://192.168.0.1 into your browser which should bring up the login screen for the hub

Refer below to the SETTINGS password highlighted in red, depending on which hub model you have (NOT the wi-fi password)

https://www.virginmedia.com/help/virgin-media-configure-advanced-settings-on-your-hub

Once you have accessed the hub's settings you should be able to change the wi-fi security settings as per message #2 above.

Re: Weak security alert on my wifi

I’ve been trying to reset this on an iPhone! Could this be the problem?
